In of the oddest pairings we can imagine, Rihanna is teaming up with The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons (that’ll be Sheldon) to play the lead in upcoming DreamWorks animation, Happy Smekday.
Unlike her big screen debut, Rihanna will only be lending her voice to a character in the new film about an alien invasion.
The comedy is an adaptation of Adam Rex's popular book The True Meaning of Smekday - is about a friendly alien race hiding from their enemies, invading earth in the process.
Rihanna and Jim Parsons will star as an outcast alien and a human girl who go on the run across the US after accidentally informing the enemy of the aliens' whereabouts.
The 24-year-old superstar has acted before - in action flick Battleship, alongside Liam Neeson - but this will be her first animation feature.
Aside from wearing t-shirts that would make nan retract the Pink wafers, recently Rihanna has been busy defending the music side of her work – the fact she teamed up with her ex Chris Brown.
To a journalist who accused her of getting back with Chris Brown, Rihanna said: "If I ever do, then that's something that y'all have to talk to me about when—if—that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is. I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect and they ended up looking stupid."
Happy Smekday is scheduled for release in late 2014.
What do you think? Does everyone just need to leave Rihanna alone?
